This chapter contains mild body horror.
LOGICA & FALLENSTAR, CHAPTER 18: The Gica Race
Amongst very long-lived members of the Gica race, some grow to be 4~5 meters tall.
These individuals are called Biggicas.
Once a Gica becomes a Biggica, they can no longer sustain the type of lives they have previously led.
The only function remaining in their bodies is the ability to reproduce.
Gicas reproduce by dividing their bodies into fragments.
A single Biggica's body mass will split off 20 to 50 pieces.
After repeating this process several times, the Biggica will pass away peacefully.
(Process as seen from above.)
The fragments of the Biggica will slowly take their proper shape...
And, once their eyes start to function and their limbs become sturdy...
A new Gica will be born! This whole process takes about three days.
And so, the Gicas will depart to live their lives.
"Laters!" "Bye-bye!" "Have fun out there!" (Label: Biggica)
All Gicas have cheerful personalities.
Logica: The curtains have opened on my life!! Here I go!!!
They are dreamers,
Logica: What sort of house should I make? Maybe one like a castle would be fun!
Lonely and cowardly,
Logica: Eeek!
Full of curiosity...
Logica: Wow, this mushroom is so weird! I'm gonna eat it!!!
...and a little bit foolish.
Logica: Ugh... my tummy... (Got a stomachache from the mushroom.)
The Gicas travel the world with only one goal in mind:
In order to find a place to live.
Logica: Lots of sunlight!
Logica: Nice stable ground!
Logica: Imma live here!!!
Once they find a place to live, they will build a house and start to live there.
Logica: I musta gotten a seed stuck in the bricks while I was building it...
Logica: There's a tree growing out of it...
But in the end, they're still a little bit foolish.
The Gica race all get lonely easily, so at times they truly long to have company.
But they never go out to find friends of their own volition.
This is because all Gicas believe in the legend.
According to the Gicas' legend...
Once upon a time, there was a Gica who had lived alone for a very long time.
One day, the sky sent a giant seed drifting down to that Gica's feet.
The Gica watered the seed every day.
And when they did, the seed bloomed beautifully, and the two of them became a family.
After that, they say the Gica was never lonely again.
And they all lived happily ever after.
Because they are all dreamers, every Gica loves this story.
They all truly believe that one day, destiny will bring them loving family who need them as much as they want family from the sky.
And so, the Gicas stay in their houses, waiting for that day to come.
The families that one day come to the Gicas who have waited for so very long...
Fallenstar: Logica!!
...all come to love the Gicas that they meet.
And it's obvious why.
Because Gicas raise their precious families with care, and love them with all their hearts and souls.
The love of a Gica is true and pure.

The characters that appear in the Gicas' legend are Mugica (pronounced with a soft G) and Marianne from Kinome's previous manga Elman which ran on Comico from January to July in 2015. While the comic ended prematurely, the whole thing can still be read there for free.
