[sfx: blink]
Marianne: Mx... Mugica......?
Mugica: G'morning, Marianne!
[sfx: pop]
Mugica: Ah... You should still...
Marianne: Mx Mugica, it feels like I haven't seen you in so long...
Marianne: Hey, Mx Mugica...
Marianne: May I give you a hug?
Mugica: Yeah! Of course!
Energy Division
Workers: The energy levels have dropped again...!
Workers: They won't stop!
Workers: The outbreak of several zero-space outbreaks have been confirmed!
Workers: I... if this goes on...
Workers: The whole galaxy will be enveloped by the zero-space phenomenon!
Director: Another failure... how many times does this make?
Elman: I think this is the 810471th time.
Director: I'm sorry, Elman... This must be hardest on you, since you keep your memories every time.
Elman: No, I'm okay.
Elman: Besides, the more times I loop, the more lives I'm able to save...
Elman: For instance, Mx Story, who I met at the Lampstar...
Elman: I was only able to save them because I knew they were going to fall into that hole.
Elman: Since on my first try... I didn't make it in time...
Director: May the 8th, May the 9th, May the 10th... Somewhere in these three days there has to be some sort of branching point... some sort of path towards a future where the universe isn't destroyed in a zero-energy outbreak...
Director: Though, it's probably...
Elman: Yeah, it's the 810471th time you've said that line.
Director: All preparations are complete... I'm going to turn on the machine that rewinds time.
Elman: I'm sorry, Madam Director... There's just nothing I can do this time around.
Director: It's all right, Elman. It makes me a little happy to hear that some things are impossible even for you.
Director: Well, then...
Director: Let's meet again in the next three days, Elman.
Elman: Yeah!
Elman: See you later.
Environmental Organization
Story: Good morning.
Manager: Morning, Story!
Enya: Good morning, sweetie.
Story: Are those two okay now?
Manager: "Those two"? What are you talking about?
Story: Huh?
Story: ...Huh? What WAS I talking about?
Manager: Oh, Story. Don't lose focus just 'cause tomorrow's your day off.
Story: Ugh... I'm sorry.
Story: I'll get it together and go out on my rounds!
Enya: Have a nice trip!
[sfx: beep]
Enya: Hey, Story?
Story: Oh, Miss Enya.
Enya: A zero-energy phenomenon just went off on Asteroid B612. We need you to hurry over right away.
Story: Yes, ma'am.
Story: Then, I'll be heading back home once this last job is done.
Enya: We're counting on you, hon!
Story: That planet's the one! This is our last stop for today, right?
Owan: Here we go.
ELMAN
Let's Meet Again Somewhere in This Endless Universe
THE END
I'm currently working on plans for my next series!
(The Wind Blows for Kuginashi Bon/Kuginashi Bon ni Kaze ga Fuku)
I look forward to the day that we will meet again! Please be patient until then...!
- Kinome
Author's Note: Thank you so much for keeping me company for the past half year or so! I hope you enjoy my next manga series too. See you then!
The number of the last loop, 810471, is probably meant as a pun on "endless" (果てしない/hateshinai, ha/8 te/10 shi/4 na/7 i/1) in the epilogue title.
While this is the end of the serialized manga, Kinome has also posted a bunch of short comics of this cast to their Twitter--some including plot-relevant stuff they never got to cover in the manga itself. I'm going to translate those in a batch as the final Elman update.
