LOGICA & FALLENSTAR, CHAPTER EIGHT: Nomnom the Monster

[sfx: hoo! hoo!]
Fallenstar: It's sure gotten dark. Let's hurry home.
Fallenstar: Hey Logica, have you heard? They say there's a monster in this forest.
Logica: Eh?!!
Fallenstar: It has a gigantic body and red eyes... It growls in a low voice, and its mouth is packed with sharp fangs...

Fallenstar: THAT ARE PERFECT FOR BITING YOUR HEAD OFF!
Logica: No way something like that really exists!
Fallenstar: But you're scared anyway~
Logica: I'm not scared!!
Voice: Grr...
Logica: Ugh! Stop making weird noises!
Fallenstar: That's not me.
Voice: Grr...
Logica: Then, who...?
Voice: Grrrr rr rr r r rrr rr...

Logica: Ahhhhh!!! I stepped on something squishy!!! Noooooooooooooo!!!
Fallenstar: WHOA what's going on what's going on?!
Creature: Grrrrrrr...
Logica: Huh...?

Fallenstar: These wounds are awful...
Fallenstar: I wonder what happened to them...
Fallenstar: But they're sure huge. Carrying them was exhausting.
Fallenstar: They were so heavy!
Logica: And they kept growling in a weird low voice the whole time!
Logica: what do their teeth look like
Fallenstar: sharpest picket fence i ever seen
Fallenstar: ...what if their eyes are red too?

[SEVERAL DAYS LATER]
Logica: Owie!
Logica: Huh? Huh?????
[sfx: RRRRIP CHOMP CHOMP]
Logica: WHAT ON EARTH????

Logica: YEEEEEEEEEEEP!
Monster: i can eat anything! everyone calls me "monster"!
Fallenstar: (We were right on the money!)
Logica: (Eeeeeeeeeek!!)
Monster: did you do this for me?

Logica: You mean treating your wounds?
Monster: it made the hurty thing stop hurting! wow!
Logica: O-oh... but don't push yourself too hard, okay?
Monster: okay...
[sfx: stomach growling]
Monster: i'm hungry
Monster: can i eat you?
Fallenstar, Logica: NO! NO NO NO NO NO! ABSOLUTELY NO!
Monster: no...?
Monster: okay...

[sfx: NOM]
Logica: The plate, too?!
Monster: tasty!!!!
Logica: Those are donuts.
Monster: donuts...
Fallenstar: What's your name?
Monster: everybody calls me monster.
Fallenstar: But that's not your name, right?
Logica: What did your mama and papa call you?

Monster: mom and dad don't talk. i don't have a name.
Logica: Then I shall give you one! Hmmm... You eat anything, so... Nomnom!
Fallenstar: That's so on-the-nose...
Logica: Simple is best when it comes to this stuff!
Fallenstar: Well, whatever! Nice to meet you, Nomnom!

Nomnom: i'm nomnom!!
Nomnom: nice to meet you!
Nomnom's wounds healed little by little.
Logica: Let's play tag! Nose goes!

Logica: Mm-mm, Nomnom... He's so tall, his eyes are red...
Nomnom: Aaaaaahhh...
[sfx: cronch cronch cronch]
Fallenstar: COOOOOOOOOOOL!!

Nomnom: I can do this too.
Logica: HE ONLY ATE THE COLOR!
Nomnom: And this.
[note: walnut]
Nomnom: Open it up.
Fallenstar: Wow!! He only ate the inside!
Logica: Bravo! That's so fresh!
Fallenstar: Nomnom, you're awesome!!
Nomnom: But eating rocks fills my tummy with scrapey stuff that hurts.
Fallenstar: Huh? Then that means that there's some things you SHOULDN'T eat...!

Nomnom: I don't know how to tell what I should and shouldn't eat. Nobody told me.
Nomnom: Because I was always by myself...
Nomnom: dad...
Nomnom: mom...
Nomnom: look at me, dad. i'm so strong!

Nomnom: Mom and Dad don't talk.
Nomnom: I'm always the only one who talks.
[sfx: CHOP... CHOP... CHOP]
Nomnom: (!! dad!)

Nomnom: DOOOOOOOOOOOOOON'T!!!
Woodcutter: Monster!!!
Nomnom: (dad!!)
Woodcutter: (Eep...)
Woodcutter: Stay away!!! (It's gonna eat me!!)
Nomnom: GYAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

[sfx: SPLATTER]
Woodcutter: Hyaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!!
Nomnom: it hurts, it hurts...
Nomnom: my head hurts...
[sfx: slip]

[sfx: GASP]
Fallenstar: Hey, good morning!
Fallenstar: Today's breakfast is chocolate-covered donuts!
Fallenstar: Bon appetit!
Logica: We made a ton, have all you like!

[sfx: polite open]
[sfx: nibble nibble]
Fallenstar: Wow, it's tasty enough to bring you to tears?
Logica: Ahaha!
